An easy and quick recipe for everyday oatmeal for the family.
Arturo's Oatmeal Superfood
2 cups water
Pinch of salt
1 date, cut roughly into strips
1 tablespoon shredded coconut (not sweetened)
1 teaspoon flax seed
1 teaspoon hemp seed
1 teaspoon chia seed
1 teaspoon maca
1 tablespoon Coconut oil
Garnish with fresh fruit
1. Combine water, salt, date, and shredded coconut in a sauce pan. Bring to boil.
2. Add oats (1 to 3 ratio of oats to water; about 3/4 cup oats to 2 cups water for thicker oatmeal). Simmer for 3 - 5 minutes, or until tender.
3. Remove from heat. Stir in flax seeds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, maca spice, and coconut oil. Mash 1/2 banana with a fork and stir into oatmeal.
4. Garnish with fresh fruit (we used winter citrus).
